This is a weird little blog.  True to its name, the posts are pretty irregular and the content, to put it mildly, is quirky.  It can also be quite funny, however, if you like your humour with a heavy dose of surrealism.  I discovered this site by accident after being attracted to its name, as I used to live on Elgin Street.  How can I describe my experience reading it?  Well, it felt like a hive of bees blended in syrup with a touch of shoelace and green bowling pins.  Confused?  Get used to that feeling if you are going to read this site.

The most recent post as of today (March 17) links to a City of Ottawa announcement about a series of consultations with the public.  Do not let this sober sounding blurb, however, mislead you, because if you delve a little deeper into the rabbit hole you will come across some pretty weird stuff, mixed with a fair amount of the absurd.

But let's focus on the comedy first: The site has ridiculed Conservative MPs Dean Del Mastro and Rob Anders, shaken its head at construction on Elgin Street, made fun of the passing of the twinkie, dared Disney to sue them, and then engaged in downright weirdness with funny post like this, this and this. Actually, with the last post I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

I am really not sure how to describe this site, except to say that it brought back memories of the drunken conversations that I had with my friends in university.  If Salvador Dali lived on Elgin Street and had lunch with a Dada collective at Pancho Villa restaurant, this blog is what they might come up with.
